IMO Facilitation Committee (FAL)

The Coast Guard provides the United States delegation to the International Maritime Organization Facilitation Committee (FAL).  FAL was established in May 1972 and is the only IMO Committee focused on efficiency in the global shipping industry.  Much of FAL’s work is aimed at eliminating unnecessary formalities and minimizing" red tape" to streamline the flow of trade.  CG-REG participates in the U.S. delegation led by the Coast Guard Office of Port & Facility Compliance (CG-FAC).  The 43rd session of FAL is scheduled from April 8 through April 12, 2019 at IMO Headquarters in London UK.  The agenda for FAL 43 can be found HERE.
