Project Management Division (CG-REG-2)

The Project Management Division (CG-REG-2) is responsible for the development and management of Coast Guard rulemaking projects that implement safety, security and environmental protection regulations.  These regulations are found in Titles 33, 46 and 49 of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR). 

  • Title 33 CFR (Navigation and Navigable Waters)

  • Title 46 CFR (Shipping)

  • Title 49 CFR (Transportation)

Rulemaking projects are initiated in response to—

  • Executive Branch and Agency initiatives

  • Statutory mandates

  • International requirements

Rulemaking projects are developed in a team environment that follows the Coast Guard’s Regulatory Development Program-Mission Management System (RDP-MMS).  The RDP-MMS helps ensure the quality and timely development of regulations.

The Project Management Division helps guide the regulatory development process by—

  • reviewing rulemaking project initiation requests

  • reviewing legacy projects for continued viability

  • accelerating the advancement of critical rulemakings

  • developing performance measurement processes and tools

6. Select any other filters necessary and then click the "Search button on the bottom of the page

3. Under "Agency or Agencies" select "Department of Homeland Security"
4. Under "Sub Agency or Agencies select "U.S. Coast Guard" then click the "Continue button"
5. On the top of the page there are three options; "Active actions", "Long Term Actions, and Completed Actions. Select "Completed Actions"
6. Select any other filters necessary and then click the "Search button on the bottom of the page
