COMMANDANT (CG-NAV-3)

The Navigation Technology and Risk Management Division (CG-NAV-3) reports directly to the Office of Navigation Systems (CG-NAV), which is under the Director of Marine Transportation Systems (CG-5PW). The division serves as the principal advisor, technical expert and policy authority for the Future of Navigation initiative, the effort to analyze, optimize and modernize the Aids to Navigation and Marine Safety Information missions. The division also manages the risk management, public affairs and environmental protection programs for the Office of Navigation Systems.
