International Summits and Engagements

The U.S. Coast Guard leads delegations that support multilateral and bilateral engagement.

Multilateral Engagement

The U.S. Coast Guard is directly engaged in the Arctic Coast Guard Forum, North Pacific Coast Guard Forum, and North Atlantic Coast Guard Forum. These forums support coordination among our Coast Guard partners on critical issues such as search and rescue, pollution response, counter-drug efforts, maritime domain awareness, and illegal, unreported, unregulated (IUU) fishing.

The Office of International Affairs serves as the executive agent to the Arctic Coast Guard Forum. This forum coordinates search and rescue and marine environmental response activities in the arctic region among the coast guards of Canada, Denmark, Iceland, Finland, Norway, Russia, Sweden, and the United States. The Coast Guard Pacific Command serves as the executive agent for the North Pacific Coast Guard Forum. The Coast Guard Atlantic Area Command is the executive agent for the North Atlantic Coast Guard Forum.

Multilateral Engagement

Bilateral Engagement

The U.S. Coast Guard actively engages in collaborative exchanges with the Canadian Coast Guard and the Mexican Navy. These regularly scheduled staff talks support the collaboration across our mutual areas of maritime interest.
