From time to time, the Coast Guard's publishes Notices of Public Rulemaking and Final Rules applicable to merchant mariner credentialing.  These can be found in the Federal Register in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations.  This is so that "interested persons are given an opportunity to participate in the rule making through submission of written data, views, or arguments with or without opportunity for oral presentation. After consideration of the relevant matter presented, the agency shall incorporate in the rules adopted a concise general statement of their basis and purpose."

At this time, the Coast Guard's Office of Merchant Mariner Credentialing is seeking public comment on the following rulemakings and policies:
